WHAT MONEY CAN NOT DO?
IT CAN BUY YOU A HOUSE, BUT NOT A HOME.
IT CAN BUY YOU A BED, BUT NOT SLEEP.
IT CAN BUY YOU A CLOCK, BUT NOT TIME.
IT CAN BUY YOU A BOOK, BUT NOT KNOWLEDGE.
IT CAN BUY YOU A POSITION, BUT NOT RESPECT.
IT CAN BUY YOU MEDICINE, BUT NOT HEALTH.

How many more items can you add to the above, brief list?
Galatians 6:7
People harvest only what they have planted.
If you sow stress, guess what you will harvest...?
If you sow anger, guess what you will harvest...?
If you sow trust, guess what you will harvest...?
If you sow negativity, guess what you will harvest...?
....and so on and so on....
THINK OF THE WORD HALT . . .
If you are hungry, angry, lonely, tired . . . stop and change your
viewpoint. GOD has written in the Bible that HE will handle
everything, including your
life if you will but trust HIM. Learn from
the past but do not dwell in it. You have no idea about tomorrow; you really
only have today, this hour, this minute, and this second. Do not wast it . . . !
We are taught that you must blame your father, your sisters,
your brothers, the school, the teachers, but never blame yourself.
It's never your fault, but it is always your fault, because if you wanted
to change, you are the one who has got to change. (Katharine Hepburn)

EVALUATING STUFF . . .
I travel often and have come to learn that it is not much fun. When you
get to where you are going, it is great, but the getting there . . .not so much .
My luggage was delayed for over a day this week. A series of flight cancellations
separated me form my bag. It was frustrating. It always is. But in the end, you usually
are reunited with the lost article.
I have made a lot of late-night trips to Wal-Mart for necessities, and been
inappropriately dressed for several events. But all-in-all, Flying beats driving.
This week was especially frustrating because nothing could be done about it.
The airline was very compassionate. But if you can't get the plane to the desired
city, what can you do? I was thinking, as impatience began to take over my emotions,
"What if the bag never comes? What if I only have these clothes? Would it really make
a difference to anyone but me?" And then it hit me. You can always replace stuff.
But just think of those things you can never replace.
You can never replace time. You cannot take back a harsh word. You will never
be able to duplicate an opportunity. There will never be a second time to make a
first impression. You can buy "stuff" with money, but just think of all the things money
cannot buy . . . like healing for a broken heart.
We often concern ourselves with "stuff" that has no real eternal value. That is wy,
in times of emergency, people will risk their lives to rescue picture albums and gifts
that could never be replaced. You can never recapture a "kodak" moment. Yet, we seem
to put so much value on "stuff", like possessions and positions. I see so many of our
colleagues who have disqualified themselves form ministry because of their desire to
possess "stuff".
what really matters to you? I talked to a couple this week who had lost their daughter
to a pagan man; to another whose little child had died; to another who was facing
critical health problems; and to another whose wife had walked away. And I was
worried about my "stuff"? What matters most to you? I would imagine if you are
really honest, it will be something you cannot replace. AM I right?

When a man dies, his family, his children, must go on,

A FEW OTHER THOTS ON WISDOM . . .
1. Love God more than you fear Hell
2. Make major decisions in a Cemetery
3. When no one is watching, live as if someone is
4. Succeed at home first
5. Don't spend someone's money today
6. Pray twice as much as you fret
7. God has forgiven you; you'd be wise to do the same

Read Philippians Chapter 3, verses 13 & 14 .
Paul states that all of us must forget the past and make every
effort to strive for positive thoughts.
We must do everything possible
to stop focusing on the past hurts and failures. If we do not, we can
paralyze ourselves when it comes to things of the present and miss the
joy that GOD has planned for us. Remember, you will not only
miss all of GOD'S Blessings, but you will also allow the 'Root of
BITTERNESS' to grow and fester. You will be the loser.
God's thoughts are not our thoughts, nor are they even like ours.
We aren't even in the
same neighborhood. We're thinking, "Preserve the body.
" HE is thinking, "Save the soul." We dream of a pay raise. HE dreams of raising the dead.
We avoid pain and seek peace. GOD used pain to bring peace. "I'm going
to
live
before I die," we resolve. "Die, so you can live. " HE instructs. We love what rusts.
HE loves what will endure. We show our children
a basketball star with
a million-dollar smile and say, "Be like Mike." GOD points to the crucified
Carpenter with the bloody lips and a torn side and says, "Be like CHRIST."

AN OBSERVATION
Stopped by a funeral home recently to pay my respects to a good
friend. Could not help but notice the friendly atmosphere in the room.
True.....many people were sad by the passing of their relative and friend,
but they were also happy that the suffering had ended and that their relative
and friend was in the presence of THE LORD. The people also knew that they
would all meet again in Heaven, when their time
came. What a good feeling,
the feeling of peace and security in the hearafter.
Have been to other funeral homes in recent years where
there was much grief,
unhappiness and anguish as the people there had no such hope or peace in GOD.
I thank GOD for HIS PROMISES AND HIS FAITHFULNESS. . . A BELIEVER
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.
Proverbs 3: 5-6
The Empty Chair
A man's daughter had asked the local minister to
come and pray
with her father. When the minister arrived, he found the man lying
in bed with his head propped up on two pillows.
An empty chair
sat beside his bed. The minister assumed that the old fellow had
been informed of his visit.
"I guess you were expecting me," he said. "No, who are you?"
said the father.
The minister told him his name and then remarked,
"I see the empty chair; I figured you knew I was going to show up."
"Oh yeah, the chair," said the bed ridded man." "Would you mind
closing the door?"
Puzzled, the minister shut the door.
"I have never told anyone this,
not even my daughter," said the man. "but all of my life I have never
known how to pray." At church I used to hear the pastor talk about
prayer, but it went right over my head. I abandoned any attempt
at prayer, "the old man continued, "until one day about four
years ago my best friend said to me, "Johnny, prayer is just a
simple matter of having a conversation with JESUS. Here is what
I suggest. Sit down in a chair; place an empty chair in front of you,
and in faith see Jesus on the chair. It's not spooky because
he promised, I'LL BE WITH YOU ALWAYS. "Then just speak to him
in the same way you're doing with me right now." "So, I tried it and
I've liked it so much that I do it a couple of hours every day. I'm
careful though. If my daughter saw me talking to an empty
chair, she'd either have a nervous breakdown or send me
off to the funny farm."
The minister was deeply moved by the story and encouraged the old
man
to continue on the journey. Then he prayed with him, anointed him with oil,
and returned to the church.
Two nights later the daughter called to tell the minister that her
daddy had
died that afternoon. "Did he die in peace?" he asked. "Yes. When I left the
house about two O'clock, he called me over to his bedside, told me he loved
me and kissed me on the cheek. When
I got back from the store an hour
later, I found him dead. But there was something strange about his death.
Apparently, just before Daddy died, he leaned over and rested his head in
the chair beside the bed . What do you make of that?" The minister wiped
a tear from his eye and said, "I wish we could all go like that."
Prayer is one of the best free gifts we receive.
There is no cost but a lot of rewards.
Pray for someone you love right now.
He who has health, has hope,
and he who has hope, has everything.
A man is measured not by outward
apperances...but by his love for GOD and family.
Until you can find peace with yourself, you will
have great difficulty finding out who you are.
The Measure of a Person is how they treat
another person who can do them absolutely no good.
THE DASH
I read of a man who stood to speak at the funeral of a friend.
He referred to the dates on her tombstone from the beginning
-
to the end. He noted that first came the date of her birth and
spoke of the following date with tears. But he said what
mattered most of all was the dash between those years.
For that dash represents all the time that she spent alive
on earth and now only those who loved her know what that
little line is worth. For it matters not, how much we own; the
cars - the house - the cash. What matters is how we live and
love and how we spend our dash. So think about this long and
hard. Are there things you'd like to change? For you never know
how much time is left. (You could be at "dash midrange.")
If we could just slow down enough to consider what's true and real,
and always try to understand the way other people feel.
And be less
quick to anger, and show appreciation more and love the people in
our lives like we've never loved before. If we treat each other with
respect, and more often wear a smile remembering that this special
dash might only last a little while. So, when you eulogy's being read
with your life's actions to rehash would you be proud of the things
they say about how you spent your dash?

BE FAITHFUL...BE JOYFUL...BE THANKFUL.
Life takes on a new meaning

This is the beginning of a New Day.
God has given me this day to use as I will.
I can waste it or grow in its light and be of service to others.
But what I do with this day is important
because I have exchanged a day of my life for it
When tomorrow comes, today will be gone forever.
I hope I will not regret the price I paid for it.
Why is it Lord, when I am in the wrong, you
bring me flowers and the milk of human kindness?
THINGS TO DO:
Give something away with no strings attached.
Do a kindness and forget it. Don't expect to be "repaid".
Spend time with the aged because the experience is priceless.
Look intently into a baby's eyes and marvel.
Laugh often. it's life's lubricant.
Give thanks for your blessings many times a day.
Pray, or you will lose the way.
Play as though you will live forever.
Live your life today as though you will die tomorrow.
PINT-SIZE FACTS
An adult body contains 8-12 pints of blood.
It takes 6-10 minutes to donate a pint of blood
and 24 hours for the body to replace your blood.
One unit of blood can be separated into components
and used to treat up to 4 patients.Less than 10% of
eligible adults donate blood for the entire southeastern MI population.
The most common blood type is O positive. The rarest blood is AB negative.
The average healthy person is eligible to give blood every 56 days.
Donating blood rarely hurts. To see what it feels like, pinch the skin
on your elbow joint. It is impossible to get HIV/AIDS from donating blood.

Every new dawn, before you awaken,
life makes a delivery to your front door, rings
the doorbell, and runs. Each package is
cleverly wrapped. Put together they
comprise a series of challenging

"Watch out - better worry about this!"
"Danger - this will bring fear!" And another:
"Impossible - you'll never handle this one!"
